To play Jeopardy, the host gives the answers and the contestants provide the questions. The object is to demonstrate a knowledge of world history, sports, or geography, etc..

In this adapted version of the game, the host provides the answers and the contestants demonstrate knowledge of English grammar by correctly forming the questions.

You can play this game in small groups OR with the entire class using a room projector.

Instructions:

  • Filp a coin to decide which contestant (or team) will go first.
  • Go to the game board and choose a category and prize. Click.
  • Since quiz show buzzers may not be available, contestants take turns.
  • The first contestant reads the answer and then says the question.
  • The host or judge may want to print the solution page. Click the icon to see if it is correct. (It must be exactly the same.)
  • If question form is correct, the contestant gets the prize money.  If it is incorrect, the prize money is subtracted from the contestant's total. (See the YouTube video for a demonstration.) You will need a pen and paper to keep score.
  • If the question form is incorrect, subtract the prize money from the contestant's total, and the next player takes a turn.

How do you start over?

  • In Firefox, at the top of your browser click on tools, and select clear Clear Private Data (or ctrl + shift + del). Next, refresh your page and the links will turn back to ther original colour.
  • In Internet Explorer, click on tools and Delete Browsing History. Next, refresh your page and the links will turn back to ther original colour.
  • In Chrome, Opera, Safari, Dillo, etc., ...umm...hey! You chose a uncommon browser so you must be uncommonly clever. I'll let you figure it out on your own.
